AFL ANZAC Day Commemoration Match

The Band has once again been invited to attend and perform at this year’s Mayne AFL & Sandgate AFC ANZAC Day Commemoration.

The usual competing team, Coorparoo AFC have moved up to the QAFL which is the league above.

Address: Sandgate Hawks Sporting Club: 120 Lemke Road Taigum.

I would suggest get there early just to get a park. Parking off 12- Lemke Road.

Uniform Slouch Hats & Medals.

12.45pm – Tune up,
1.30pm – band assembles at gate adjacent to the home team coaches box.
1.40pm – band marches (short march) onto the field – 10 – 15 minutes to the tune of Rose of Allandale/Rowen Tree (repeat as necessary until we get into position) then halt and depending on time, play Amazing Grace & Australiana Set. (This may change – watch the signal from the DM).
1.55pm – on a signal, the Players and Umpires assemble for the Last Post & Minutes silence then we play both NZ and Australian National Anthems (in that order).
2pm Band marches off the field playing World War tunes and the game commences..
