A living, musical memorial to those called to National Service in Australia

The band was formed in 1999 by Dales Whyte as a living Memorial to the over 300,000 men that were called up for national service between 1951 and 1972, and fought, and unfortunately sometimes died in the service of Australia, especially in Vietnam.

Reaffirming a Special Connection

The new Commanding Officer LTCOL Mark Winter joined the members of the band to celebrate the occasion where the 9RQR regimental tune “Frog Hollow Rangers” was performed. Patrons Brigadier Bond (Army) and AIRCDRE Lawson (Air Force) also were present for the occasion.

The band is currently sponsored by 9RQR. Practice is in the Monash Centre, which also now houses our Q-Store.

Reaffirming a special connection between the P&DNSMB and the 9th Batallion Royal Queensland Regiment (9RQR).
