QFES Firefighters Rehearsal/Graduation

NOTES:

Venue: Queensland Combined Emergency Services Academy, 15 Howard Smith Dr, Port of Brisbane.

Uniform: 

Rehearsals: Band Cap/Bucket Hat, New Polo Shirt and slacks/jeans/dress shorts and good (enclosed) shoes. 

Graduations: Slouch Hats, Medals (if applicable) and new shirts.

Timings: Graduations start at 10am unless otherwise advised, (Best to confirm at Rehearsals as it may change). Rehearsals commence around about 3 pm the day before but the timing can be flexible.

Tunes: your choice but recommend something easy. March in tune is usually played up tempo.

Parade: After halting the only other tune is a slow air whilst the inspection is being held. No other participation by the piper is required. You are welcome to sit after the National Anthem. Courtesy would dictate the member finds a seat and quietly watch the graduation until the end. Please no texting or phone calls. Respect the parade.

Always be guided by how long you are required and don’t presume you have finished until they no longer require you.

Venue: Don’t forget to sign in and out on arrival. Parking is available where marked as free. Do not park in designated officer’s parking bays.

Except for a cup of tea/coffee/water, no other food/beverage is provided. If offered however no issues.

Finances: When completed (Both the Rehearsal and Graduation) please advise Howard so an invoice can be arranged for payment ($250 per day to the band account). Remember you are entitled to Tolls reimbursement – Just send an email (To Howard) with the dates and details.

There is no requirement to attend Band practice if you have piped at a rehearsal/graduation on a Wednesday – recommend a break.
