World War 1 Digger’s Grave Dedication

November 5, 2023 @ 2:15 pm - 5:00 pm

A request has come in from the “Friends of the Balmoral Cemetery” for the band to attend and perform at another Dedication Ceremony.
This time they are dedicating 10 x unmarked graves (until now) of WW1 diggers they have identified and would like us to be part of that ceremony.
Dress: Slouch hat/medals
Tune up 2.15pm Balmoral Cemetery for a 3pm Dedication Service.
Parking: on Grounds (side of the pathway road where suitable) and we all meet at the shed at top of the Cemetery grounds.
The dedication will be held at yet to be confirmed location (marked with an Australian Flag on a stand) so we will be guided to the venue on arrival.
Background:

The Headstone Project is chartered with “The sole purpose of ensuring that all Australian First World War veterans have their last resting place suitably marked in such a way that recognises their service”.

With the assistance of The Office of Australian War Graves, the graves of several WW1 diggers have been built and bronze plaques fitted.

All three levels of government have been invited to attend as well as a local media representative.
